Half-day sessions
Sessions run from 9-30 to 12-00am or 1-30 to 4-00pm
All courses participants are given full training, all equipment needed is supplied
The course centre is fully insured and a first aider is on site at all times. Choose from:
Pole lathe turning (stool making)
Create a rustic tool using ancient greenwood skills on a traditional Pole Lathe (foot powered lathe). Participants will turn the stool legs; bore leg holes using a traditional bit and brace finally assembling the stool. This is a creative activity, using challenging skills to produce a rustic stool.
Woodland survival
Build your own weatherproof shelter, light fire with wood and string (no matches!), and make string from plants. Fun activities in the wood, a challenge both individually and in a team.
Sweet pea climbers/ garden features
Using coppice materials (willow and Hazel), you will learn how the wood is harvested, why this is appropriate and how to work the wood. Your skill is needed to tease the wood into shape producing a beautiful sweet pea climber or garden feature.
Creative willow work (lantern making, willow butterflies etc)
Allow your creative mind to run free as you learn the properties of willow while making a selection of items.
Hedgerow baskets
Enjoy a walk through the wood harvesting materials to make a simple basket.
Coracle Making
Build a boat in 2 hours 15 minutes then all paddle across the water. A whole group activity.

Time 9-30 to 4-00
You choose two activities with participants experiencing one in the morning and a different activity in the afternoon.
